Katie Mermis

As an English major at K-State, I’ve spent my college years learning that stories and new perspectives shape the way we view the world. That belief has inspired me to see and experience as much of the world as I can. In Fall 2025, I spent six months in Australia, where I studied abroad before backpacking along the east coast. During my time there, I met some of my best friends and discovered a passion for cross-cultural immersion and living abroad. Now, I plan to teach English abroad and eventually pursue a master’s degree in humanitarian studies, continuing to explore new places and cultures along the way. I’m excited to share my experiences and help anyone interested in studying abroad find an opportunity that fits them and feel confident taking that first step!
